Use positions and letters together
For S.A.E, S is first, A is third and E is fifth. Add R to Include letters to keep SCARE, SHARE and SNARE. Add C to Exclude letters to remove SCARE. An excluded letter cannot appear anywhere in a result.
Repeated letters mean separate copies
EE in Include letters requires at least two Es. CHEER, EERIE and SHEEP fit. A letter already entered in a position can also satisfy the Include filter: the filters do not require an extra copy.
A rack narrows the available words
RATES can make five-letter words such as RATES, STARE and TEARS. Each supplied letter can be used only once. With RATE?, a blank can supply the missing S in STARE; the blank contributes zero points and is underlined in the result.
Choose the list that suits your puzzle
Common words has 2,879 five-letter entries. Our full game list has 12,281. The smaller list helps avoid obscure suggestions. Neither list is presented as the official Wordle answer list or an official tournament dictionary.
Small numbers beside words are base letter points from Scrabble (our version), before board bonuses. Tap a result to check its letters and value in Word Checker. Most different letters puts words with fewer repeated letters first.
Keep the filters consistent
- Do not exclude a letter you have placed or included.
- Use one box per known position.
- If there are no matches, clear the rack or switch to the full game list.
